# Fullscreen Dialog

A modal dialog that covers the entire viewport

Fullscreen dialog is an *adaptive* pattern with its roots in mobile app architecture. We consider it a legacy pattern. For a fully responsive web pattern we recommend [lightbox-dialog](/mindpatterns/disclosure/lightbox-dialog.md) instead.
